Trucking company marketing means getting the shipper, the company that needs to send cargo, to find your operation when searching for freight, warehousing or distribution, and to be able to request a quote without going through the tracking support line. The challenge in this niche is that most people who search “transportadora” on Google want to track a package, not hire a carrier. Among the first 60 profiles Google Maps shows in São Paulo, Rio and Belo Horizonte, half have 100 reviews or more, and on the 8 sites we measured, all went over Google’s mobile speed limit.
What we found about freight carriers in October 2026
In October 2026, we reviewed the first 60 profiles Google Maps shows in São Paulo, Rio and Belo Horizonte for the search “transportadora”. Of the sites we could read, 43 in total, we checked the measurement tags, WhatsApp and structured data. On a sample of 8, we measured mobile speed.
| What we measured (10/15/2026) | Result |
|---|---|
| Profiles analyzed on Google Maps | 60 |
| Average profile rating | 4,47 |
| Median reviews per profile | 96,5 |
| Profiles with 100 reviews or more | 50% |
| Profiles with fewer than 20 reviews | 18% |
| Profiles without a website | 17% |
| Sites without Tag Manager and without GA4 (out of 43) | 42% |
| Sites with Google Ads tag | 19% |
| Sites with WhatsApp link | 63% |
| Sites with structured data (schema) | 49% |
| Median mobile LCP (8 sites) | 6.9 s |
| Sites above 2.5 s LCP (out of 8) | 100% |
| Median mobile PageSpeed score (8 sites) | 65,5 |
The average rating of 4.47 is well below the 4.84 of custom furniture stores in the same survey. That makes sense. Reviews of freight carriers mix people who hired the freight with people who just waited for a late delivery.
How much a click costs in logistics and transport
The logistics and transportation sector had 112,560 searches per month and a top-of-page bid in the middle of the R$5.61 range, from R$2.39 to R$8.83. That is the top-of-page bid Google estimates for October 2026, not what each company pays. The method is in our CPC by industry study.
The picture changes when you look term by term.
- “transportadora” (freight carrier), 110,000 searches per month, R$2.34 to R$8.59
- “armazenagem” (warehousing), 2,400 searches, R$4.32 to R$18.84
- “logística para e-commerce” (e-commerce logistics), 140 searches, R$4.71 to R$23.20
- “frete para empresas” (freight for businesses), 20 searches, R$4.38 to R$23.80
Almost all of the sector’s volume sits in a single word, and it is the noisiest one. Searches only a shipper would make, like “frete para empresas”, are rare and reach nearly three times the top-of-page bid of “transportadora”. The auction already knows who buys.
Freight carrier marketing on Google Ads: steer clear of tracking
The first rule of Google Ads for a freight carrier is not to buy “transportadora” on its own without a long list of negative keywords. Without it, your budget goes to people who want to track an order, look for a driver job or find another company’s phone number.
Negative keywords block your ad on those searches. A starting base:
- rastreamento, rastrear, rastreio, código, encomenda, pedido (tracking, track, code, parcel, order)
- vagas, emprego, trabalhe conosco, motorista, agregado (jobs, employment, work with us, driver, contracted driver)
- telefone, reclamação, endereço de, segunda via (phone, complaint, address of, duplicate copy)
- names of large carriers and marketplaces
The full list and how to review it every week are in our guide to negative keywords in Google Ads.
After that, the campaign is organized around what your operation actually sells: LTL freight, full truckload, dedicated freight, warehousing, e-commerce distribution. Each service gets its own terms, the radius of the routes you cover and a dedicated landing page.
Freight carrier website: keep quotes away from tracking
A freight carrier website needs to separate, right at the top, people who want to track a shipment from people who want to hire you. When the tracking button and the quote button share the same form or the same WhatsApp, your sales team spends the day answering questions about parcels.
What works:
- A visible tracking button that leads to the tracking system, kept out of the sales path.
- One page per service and per region served, with accepted cargo types, average transit times by route and fleet.
- A quote form with origin, destination, weight, volume and type of goods, which is what sales asks anyway.
- A sales WhatsApp separate from the customer service WhatsApp.
Speed is the other weak spot. The median LCP across the 8 sites we measured was 6.9 seconds on mobile, and every one of them was above 2.5 seconds, the limit Google calls good in the LCP documentation. Full-size fleet photos and a slider at the top of the page usually explain a good part of it. Website optimization starts there.
The 49% of sites with structured data are a good sign. Marking up the company, its services and its service areas with schema helps Google show the right carrier in the right city.
Measure the quote, then the contract
Of the 43 sites we reviewed, 42% had neither Google Tag Manager nor GA4, and only 19% had the Google Ads tag. WhatsApp, on the other hand, appeared on 63%. It is the common picture of a company that advertises, gets contacts and can’t say which search brought the client who signed a contract.
The first step is to measure every quote request and every click on the sales WhatsApp as a conversion. Google Tag Manager does this without touching the site’s code every time something changes.
The second is to look at the contract. A shipper signs after testing a route, negotiating a rate table and getting through supplier registration, and that takes weeks. If your sales team records where each quote came from, you can send the closed contract back to Google Ads, and the campaign learns to look for companies similar to the ones that signed, instead of people who only asked for a price.
Google Maps: reviews already carry weight
Half of the profiles had 100 reviews or more, and 62% reached 10 photos, the maximum our query reads. Falling behind here is easy.
Two actions are worth more than the rest. Answer every negative review with the facts (what caused the delay, what was done), because shippers read the replies to judge how you handle problems. And ask business clients for a review after each renewed contract, since they are the ones who talk about the service you actually sell. How to do it without breaking the rules is in how to get reviews on Google, and how to reply to criticism is in how to respond to Google reviews.
Logistics marketing: warehousing and e-commerce
Logistics operators, warehouses and fulfillment companies compete for a different kind of search. “Armazenagem” had 2,400 searches per month and “logística para e-commerce” had 140, with top-of-page bids above R$18. Small volume, high ticket.
In these cases, logistics marketing calls for pages that explain the operation in detail (capacity, integration with store platforms, dispatch time) and a tightly restricted ad on those terms. The company’s LinkedIn helps you stay in the minds of decision makers, as we explain in LinkedIn for businesses.
Where to start on a small budget
If the operation is small and sales is one person, the order that usually pays off most in freight carrier marketing is this.
- Separate tracking and quotes on the website, which already gives hours back to sales every week.
- Reply to the old Google Maps reviews, starting with the negative ones.
- Set up measurement for quotes and the sales WhatsApp.
- Create a page for the service with the best margin, with the route and cargo type.
- Only then turn on a small search campaign for that service, with the negative keywords ready.
Jumping straight to step 5 is the most expensive mistake. The campaign goes live, the phone rings, and nearly every call is from someone asking about their own parcel.
Frequently asked questions
How do you do marketing for a freight carrier? Separate tracking from quotes on the website, create one page per service and region, measure quotes and the sales WhatsApp, and only then advertise on Google with a long list of negative keywords.
Should a freight carrier advertise on Google Ads? It can be worth it when the campaign buys the terms for the service you sell and blocks tracking, jobs and competitor names. Without that, most of the clicks come from people who don’t hire freight.
What does a freight carrier website need? Tracking kept out of the sales path, a page per service and route, a quote form with origin, destination, weight and volume, and a separate sales WhatsApp.
What is logistics marketing? It is the work of helping companies that need to store, sort or distribute goods find their logistics operator, with technical pages, ads restricted to buying terms and a presence on LinkedIn.
How much does it cost to advertise a freight carrier on Google? In October 2026, the top-of-page bid Google estimated for “transportadora” ranged from R$2.34 to R$8.59. What each company pays depends on region, competition and ad quality.
