Google Ads doesn’t charge a monthly fee and has no minimum spend: you set a daily budget and pay for the clicks you receive. What changes the cost is the click price in your sector. For searches in Brazil, Google suggests anywhere from under R$1 per click (flower shops, real estate agencies) to over R$30 (pest control) and R$61 (accounting for businesses). For a search campaign to learn from the data, plan on at least 10 clicks a day. For a local business, that usually works out to between R$900 and R$3,600 a month on ads alone, depending on the sector.

This article answers the questions that come up most before someone starts advertising: how much it costs, whether there’s a minimum spend, how Google charges, and how much to set aside per month. The click values come from Google’s own Keyword Planner, for searches in Brazil, checked in October 2026.

How much Google Ads costs, in short

QuestionAnswer
Is there a monthly fee?No. You pay for usage, and the click cost comes out of the budget you set.
Is there a minimum spend? No. Google doesn’t require a minimum investment.
How is it charged?Per click on most search campaigns. You pay only when someone clicks.
Can it spend more than the budget? On a given day, up to 2 times the daily budget. Over the month, never more than 30.4 times.
How much does the click cost?It depends on the sector and the competition. See the table below.

Does Google Ads have a minimum spend?

No. Google’s help on bids and budgets doesn’t mention a minimum investment, and you can choose whatever daily budget you want.

But being able to isn’t the same as it working. Google Ads is an auction. If the click in your sector costs R$8 and your budget is R$10 a day, you’re buying one click a day. The campaign gets flagged as limited by budget, shows up for only a small share of searches, and doesn’t gather enough data to improve. That’s where the wrong conclusion comes from, that “Google Ads doesn’t work for my business,” when the real problem was the budget.

How Google charges

Three rules explain the invoice, and they’re on the spending limits page:

  1. You set an average daily budget. That’s the amount you plan to spend per day, on average, over the month.
  2. On a high-demand day, spending can reach double that. To balance it out, on other days it stays below.
  3. Over the month, spending never exceeds 30.4 times the daily budget. Someone who sets R$50 a day pays at most R$1,520 for the month.

The click price isn’t fixed either. The bid you set is the maximum, and Google usually charges less, only what’s needed to keep the ad’s position.

How much the click costs in your sector

The table shows the bid range to appear at the top of the page, according to Google’s Keyword Planner, for searches in Brazil. It’s a good gauge of what the click costs in practice: the amount you actually pay usually falls within that range or below it.

pest control90.500R$7.08 to R$31.29
accounting for businesses260R$7.23 to R$61.32

Two things stand out. Volume and price don’t go together: “hotel” gets millions of searches at a low cost per click, while “accounting for businesses” gets few searches at a high cost per click, because each client is worth a lot to the advertiser. And within the same industry, the exact search changes everything. Someone searching for “labor lawyer” is closer to hiring than someone searching for “labor rights,” and that’s why the click costs more.

How much to invest per month: the math

The simplest way to calculate this starts with the number of clicks the campaign needs to learn. We recommend at least 10 clicks per day for a search campaign.

Monthly budget = clicks per day × cost per click × 30.4

Three examples, using a cost per click in the middle of the table’s range:

BusinessClick (example)Clicks per dayPer dayPer month
Pizzeria with deliveryR$215R$30R$912
Electrician or plumberR$510R$50R$1,520
Labor law firmR$1210R$120R$3,648

These amounts are just the ad spend, paid directly to Google. Campaign management, when applicable, is separate.

Working backward: how much does a client cost

The right budget isn’t what fits your pocket. It’s what lets you buy clients at a profit. To figure that out, calculate your cost per client:

  1. Cost per click. Let’s say R$3.00.
  2. Page conversion rate. Out of every 100 visits, how many turn into a contact or a sale? Let’s say 3%.
  3. Clicks per client. 100 ÷ 3 = about 33 clicks for each client.
  4. Cost per client. 33 × R$3.00 = R$99.

If your service costs R$100, this campaign breaks even at best. If it costs R$1,000, it’s a great deal. That’s why page conversion rate matters just as much as click price: doubling your conversion rate from 3% to 6% cuts your cost per client in half, without touching your budget.

How to pay less per click

  • Add negative keywords for what doesn’t sell. Searches with “free,” “job,” “course,” and “PDF” burn through budget without bringing in clients.
  • Take care of your Quality Score. An ad and landing page aligned with the search make Google charge you less for the same spot in the auction. We explain how in Quality Score.
  • Measure the right conversion. If Google doesn’t know who became a client, it optimizes for clicks, not sales. See Google Ads spending too much.
  • Choose the right campaign type. Search, Performance Max, and Display cost and deliver different things. See the campaign types.

What about management costs?

Ad spend goes straight to Google, paid with your company’s card, boleto, or Pix. Management is a separate cost: someone to build the campaign, pick and negate keywords, measure conversions, and adjust it every week.

Doing it yourself works if you have time to learn. What usually gets expensive is the middle ground: a campaign set up on autopilot, with keywords too broad, that burns through the month’s budget in a few days on clicks from people who were never going to buy. Ciclicko’s plans are on the Google Ads management page, and the free Google Ads audit shows where your account is losing money before you decide.

Frequently asked questions

What’s the minimum budget for Google Ads in Brazil in 2026? Google doesn’t require a minimum. For a Search campaign to gather data, count on at least 10 clicks a day. In the examples in this article, that ranges from about R$900 a month (delivery) to R$3,600 (labor law firms), just for ad spend.

Can I start with R$300 a month? You can. That’s about R$10 a day. With a R$2.50 click, that’s around 120 clicks a month, not much for the campaign to learn from. If that’s your budget, focus on a few searches from people who are ready to buy, like “electrician in Pinheiros,” and also take care of your Google Business Profile, which is free.

Do you pay your Google Ads balance to the agency? No. You pay for your ads directly to Google, with your company’s boleto, Pix, or card. With Ciclicko, you pay only for management: strategy, setup, and campaign optimization.

How long does it take for Google Ads to pay off? Clicks start as soon as the ads are approved. Optimization takes longer: automated bidding strategies go through a learning period after each major change, and in the accounts we manage, performance usually settles in between the second and third month.

Is Google Ads a better investment than Meta Ads? It depends on the goal. Google Ads reaches people who are already looking for what you sell. Meta Ads (Facebook and Instagram) puts your product in front of people who weren’t looking for it yet. For local services and anything people search for by name, Google usually comes first. Ideally, you use both, each at its own stage.
