Selling on TikTok Shop requires an active CNPJ (Brazilian company registration number), an approved Seller Center registration, published products, and a video showing the product in use. As of 10/30/2026, the official commission in Brazil is 6% for items of R$50 or more and 10% for items below that, plus a fixed fee per item sold. Before opening, the store needs to know the minimum price that still leaves margin after these fees, shipping, and taxes.

The search “how to sell on TikTok Shop” gets 14,800 searches per month in Google’s Keyword Planner (queried on 10/30/2026), with an estimated top-of-page bid of R$18.90. “TikTok Shop Brasil” adds another 9,900 monthly searches, at R$10.12. This is Google’s estimated top-of-page bid, not what each business pays. It means many people are asking this question, and advertisers are also competing for it.

This guide on how to sell on TikTok Shop follows the official pages of the Seller Learning Center, consulted on 10/30/2026. Fees and store rules change, so always check the final math in your dashboard.

What TikTok Shop is and who can sell

TikTok Shop is the shopping storefront inside TikTok. The seller lists the product, and the customer buys in the video, in the shop’s storefront, or during a live stream, without leaving the app.

According to the Seller Learning Center, at this stage only legal entities can register. The page lists EIRELI, SLU, EI, S.A., and LTDA, and the registration FAQ mentions the CCMEI as the document for MEIs (Brazilian individual microentrepreneurs). Individuals without a CNPJ can’t sell.

In practice, the businesses that can open a shop today are those with an active CNPJ (Brazilian company registration number) and a bank account in the company’s name. If you still sell only on Instagram and WhatsApp as an individual, your first step isn’t TikTok. It’s formalizing your business.

How to sell on TikTok Shop in Brazil: step by step to open your shop

The official process has few steps, but approval gets stuck on document details.

  1. Go to the Brazilian Seller Center (seller-br.tiktok.com) and create an account with a phone number, email or QR code from a TikTok account. One phone number or email works for only one registration.
  2. Fill in the details of the company and its legal representative. The business name must match the CNPJ card.
  3. Upload the representative’s photo ID. If the CPF (Brazilian individual taxpayer number) doesn’t appear on the document, submit it separately.
  4. Enter your bank and tax details, in the company’s name.
  5. Give your shop a name and wait for the review. The Learning Center says it usually takes 2 to 6 days. The result appears in your dashboard and is sent by email.
  6. While you wait, you can set up shipping, add products and link a TikTok account. Selling only starts after verification.

One detail that catches people in a hurry. The FAQ page warns that new sellers go through a trial period, with limits on daily orders and listed products. Don’t plan your first month around Black Friday volume.

How much it costs to sell on TikTok Shop in 2026

The official cost has three parts: the commission on the item, a flat fee per item sold and, for sellers who join, the shipping program fee. The table below reproduces the official commission rate page in Brazil, viewed on 10/30/2026, with the rules in effect since 07/15/2026.

Item soldCommissionFlat fee per item
Under R$50.0010%R$4.00
R$50.00 or more6%R$6.00

The base is the item price after the discount the seller gives. A discount funded by the platform is not included in the calculation. The page itself gives the example of pants priced at R$85.00 with a R$10.00 seller discount. The base becomes R$75.00, the 6% commission is R$4.50, and with the R$6.00 flat fee the total is R$10.50.

Incentive for new stores

As of 03/01/2026, the official page lists a 0% commission for new sellers who complete the seller mission and claim the reward. The benefit lasts 60 days and is capped at R$17,000. If the mission expires without being completed, the reward is lost. If you open your store without checking the growth dashboard, you let this discount slip by.

Shipping fee program

All sellers in Brazil are eligible and are enrolled automatically, with the option to opt out and rejoin. The service fee is 6% of the sale price of each product shipped successfully, capped at R$50 per product. The official page explains how to enroll manually in Seller Center, under Marketing and Campaigns.

What the fee does not include

The commission fee does not cover taxes, packaging, returns or the cost of the product. It also does not cover what you pay the creator who promotes your store, because affiliate commission follows a separate fee schedule. To find your real number, the Academy tells you to check Finance and Statements in the dashboard, where the current rate is listed.

What your store needs before opening

Opening the store is the easy part. What decides whether TikTok Shop becomes a sales channel or just dead stock is what you have in place before you sign up.

  • A price with real margin. Add up commission, fixed fee, shipping, taxes and returns. For a R$45 product, the official fees alone come to R$8.50, almost 19% of the price. If your margin can’t absorb that, your entry product should be a different one.
  • A product that shows well on video. TikTok sells what works in a fifteen-second demo. Clothes fitting on a body, before and after, everyday use. Items that need a long technical explanation sell poorly there.
  • Clean listings. Accurate photos, a title that says what the product is, and correct variants and stock. A customer who receives something different from the video returns it, and the return comes back to you.
  • Inventory and shipping time. A video that goes viral with no product on the shelf turns into complaints.
  • Someone who records every week. Without content, nobody sees the showcase. This is where most stores stop.

Where TikTok Shop sales come from: video, live, showcase and affiliates

Selling on TikTok Shop, in practice, means producing content that leads to a purchase. There are four doors.

The store’s own video is the cheapest and most consistent. It shows the product, answers the most common question in the comments and leads to the showcase.

The showcase is the store’s display inside the profile. It works like the shelf for people who already arrived interested.

The live stream takes preparation. A script of the products, an agreed time and someone to answer the chat. Without that, it ends up long and empty.

If you want to know how to sell on TikTok Shop without depending only on your own profile, affiliate creators promote your product in exchange for a commission. The official affiliate commission page has the rules, and that cost goes into your margin calculation.

To choose what to post, the logic is the same as for an Instagram store, just with video closer to the purchase. If you already produce product content, it’s worth reading content for an Instagram store, which covers what to show so you sell and not just get seen. And if your question is whether TikTok makes sense for your type of business before you even open the store, TikTok for business covers that decision.

How Ciclicko looks at this channel

Ciclicko doesn’t run stores or inventory. Our job is the content and paid traffic that feeds the sale. Before any video, we check three things.

First, whether the product still makes sense after the official fees. Second, whether there is enough product material for four weeks of videos, without making anything up. Third, whether there is a number to measure. Sales per video, showcase clicks and completed orders, in that order, and never views alone.

Sellers of physical products usually have other channels too. Well-built ecommerce marketing combines TikTok, Google Shopping and Performance Max, without treating TikTok as the only bet. If content is the bottleneck, the cost of a social media team and the product photos in photos for social media help you decide what to do in-house and what to hire out.

Costly mistakes when selling on TikTok Shop

Beginners tend to trip over the same things.

  • Pricing without the fees. A showcase price copied from another marketplace often forgets the fixed fee per item.
  • Ignoring the trial period. If you plan a big campaign for the first week, you run into the order limit.
  • Missing the incentive window. The zero-commission reward has a deadline to be redeemed.
  • Posting without a routine. Ten videos in one day and nothing for a month won’t build a profile.
  • Splitting your focus too early. Opening TikTok Shop, Instagram, a marketplace and your own store all at once, without a team, weakens every one of them.

How do you sell on TikTok Shop as a small store? First check whether your margin can handle the fees and who records the content. A low-priced product with a high flat fee and no video routine is usually the worst case.

Do you need an agency to learn how to sell on TikTok Shop? Not to open the store, which is just a registration. Help pays off in the content routine and in reading the numbers afterward.
